Requirements and compatibility
Supported React versions, browsers, bundlers and rendering environments.
React
| Requirement | Version |
|---|---|
react | >= 18.2 (18 and 19 supported) |
react-dom | >= 18.2 |
Both are peer dependencies. The package itself has zero runtime dependencies.
Browsers
The last two versions of evergreen browsers, and Safari 15.4 or newer. The baseline features are @layer and inset; :has() is used only as an enhancement.
Bundlers and frameworks
The package ships ESM and CJS with type definitions for both, and declares sideEffects so bundlers can tree-shake it. The React entry carries a "use client" banner, so it works in the Next.js App Router without extra wrapping. See Next.js.
Server rendering
The table renders on the server: rows, role="grid" and the cards layout are all present in the server HTML. Because there is no viewport to measure, responsive values need a declared breakpoint; see ssrBreakpoint in Responsive.
Bundle size
| Entry | min+gzip |
|---|---|
import { DataTable } from '@kingtech/react-tablekit' | 56.5 kB |
| Full import | 60.1 kB |
@kingtech/react-tablekit/core | 20.8 kB |
@kingtech/react-tablekit/styles.css | 6.1 kB |
DataTable is batteries-included, so the first two numbers are close together. If you need a small bundle, use @kingtech/react-tablekit/core with your own markup.
